About the role
As a Senior Data Product Consultant, you play a key role in shaping, prioritising, and delivering data products that are business-driven, reliable, and actually used.
You operate at the intersection of business, data, and technology. You work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs, translate them into clear functional data requirements, and guide multidisciplinary data teams toward effective solutions. You ensure that data products are well-defined, grounded in quality source data, and aligned with business priorities from idea to adoption.
This is a hands-on, senior consulting role with strong ownership. While you do not necessarily build data pipelines yourself, you are deeply involved in functional analysis, data modelling, and decision-making throughout the data product lifecycle.
Do you have what it takes?
5+ years of relevant experience in roles such as functional data analyst, analytics consultant, data product consultant, or similar.
Strong experience in functional data analysis, including requirements gathering, source data profiling, and functional data model design.
Solid understanding of data analysis and interpretation (e.g. SQL, familiarity with BI tools).
A strong sense of ownership and a value-oriented mindset, able to assess trade-offs and prioritise what matters most.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with data management concepts such as data modelling, data quality assessment, metadata management, lineage, and source-to-target analysis.
The ability to understand end-to-end data flows, from source systems to analytical or reporting products, while keeping both detail and the bigger picture in view.
Experience working in Agile environments (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.
Familiarity with data catalog or metadata tools (e.g. Collibra, Purview, or similar) is a plus.
Fluency in Dutch is required.
