Data Governance Consultant

About the role

Support the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and processes aligned with business and compliance needs.
Contribe to the setup and use of data governance platforms such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, OpenMetadata, or similar tools.
Support data transformation initiatives by helping align data governance with business priorities and ways of working.
Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating governance concepts into practical actions.
Collaborate with business units and IT teams to implement cohesive and workable data governance solutions.
Support initiatives related to data quality, data ownership, metadata management, security, and compliance.
Assist in the development of data dictionaries, data catalogs, and governance documentation together with client teams.
Help ensure data initiatives comply with relevant regulations and internal policies, contributing to risk mitigation efforts.
Do you have what it takes?
2+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or related data roles (consulting experience is a plus).
Familiarity with data governance concepts, data quality principles, metadata management, and regulatory considerations.
Initial experience with data governance or metadata platforms (e.g. Collibra, Purview, OpenMetadata, or similar), or a strong interest in building expertise in these tools.
Experience contributing to data, analytics, or transformation projects in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data governance concepts clearly and work effectively with diverse teams.
A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks, learn quickly, and grow into broader responsibilities over time.
A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Management, Business Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar).
Fluency in Dutch is required; proficiency in English is a strong plus.
